first project using photoshop
For this assignment, I copy and pasted ten images unto a base (the background of a sand dune) and rasterized them so they could fully become layers. These pictures included: Mona Lisa, a length of chain link, film strip, a guitar, a butterfly, a baby, the moon, a woman featured in comic art and multiple cheese doodles. Due to spacial restrictions, I decided to confine five or so within the blank slots of film so as to create a sense of flow. In the meantime, I placed the butterfly, the moon and the cheese doodles over the base because they matched the contrast of color between the dark blue sky and the flaxen yellow sand. Since this is my first time using the photoshop software, I was limited in applying many of the program's effects to their full extent. Instead, I used basic layering techniques, the move tool, the magnetic lasso, as well as a combination of keyboard short-cuts that led to the finished product you see below. In hindsight, I may have missed (or simply forgotten to use) several effects that were part of the project requirements, however I currently consider this to be a work in progress if I were to ever revisit it again.
