my portrait (after effects)

Hello again. Despite finishing this project on the twenty-first, I figured I would spruce up the image with a few left over images from my first task. Sufficed to say, it involved lots of layering. Everyone you see was its own individual layer. The padlock, butterfly, Cheetos, polaroids, drop shadow and even myself and the background (which I was able to create using pretty neat color gradient effects) were all their own layer. If I remember correctly, I got up to the mid forties. My favorite part of this project hands down was being able to have free reign over the extent of experimentation I used with the program. My arms and left leg were cool to work with and manipulate too just because I've never done anything quite like this before. You'll probably notice that I didn't erase the area of my chest outside the upper middle three polaroids. This was intentional, simply because I thought the empty space was ascetically unappealing. For this project, I used all sorts of tools, including the polygonal lasso, quick selection, spot healing brush and eraser tool to (eventually) provide the finishing product you see above. If I were to change anything, I would do a better job using the patch tool to clean up some of the freckles on my face.
